FAQs
What are your fees for individual therapy?
Therapy is a significant investment, and deciding to start can be challenging. It requires time, dedication, trust, and financial commitment. It takes a lot of courage to venture into therapy and I am proud of you for taking a step for yourself.
For 50 minute individual therapy sessions my rate per session is $150. My rate for intakes is $165 per intake. If there is a need for a sliding scale, this can be discussed during the initial consultation call.
What are your fees for individual session for Somatic Experiencing students?
At this time, I am able to provide individual sessions for SE students at the Beginning Level Modules (I, II & III). The fee’s for individual sessions are $125 and $100 for scholarship students. Additionally, I offer a sliding scale for LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC SE students.
Do you offer a Sliding Scale? What is a Sliding Scale?
Yes - I offer a sliding scale!
A capitalist system determines our financial access and value through societal imposed hierarchies based on identity (ex; race, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability/ability, and other identity markers). Each of us can afford services based on our own set of circumstances that should be considered when receiving services. A sliding scale is used to encourage people to pay based on their available resources. People who have greater financial privilege contribute more, allowing those that have less access to pay according to their means. A sliding scale helps business sustain its services and make accessibility as available as possible.
At any time whether you are a current client or prospective client, you are welcome to bring up your financial needs and discuss out-of-pocket rates.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance. I can only accept out-of-pocket pay. I accept debit cards, credit cards and FSA/HSA cards for payment which would be set up in the Simple Practice Portal once you get established as a client.
How do I get reimbursed even if you do not take my insurance?
I am considered an Out of Network (OON) Provider, meaning I can provide you a Superbill. Depending on your out of network benefits, you may be able to submit this to your insurance company for direct reimbursement. Contact your insurance provider to learn more about your eligibility. You can ask “Does my insurance plan accept out of network providers? What are my out of network mental health benefits? What process do I follow to submit claims?”
Do you offer in- person or remote?
I offer both in- person or tele-health.
Do you do individual therapy with teens?
At this time, I am not accepting any clients under the age of 18 years old.
What if we have a consultation and I don’t think it is a good fit?
This is totally normal, and I would encourage you to continue looking for a therapist that you vibe with. After the consultation call or even if you discover after a few sessions that I am not a good fit, you are welcome to communicate how you are feeling. This will open up conversations about any referrals I may have for other therapists that may be a better fit or other resources to help you research more therapist that you may be interested in working with.
Where do I find your focus areas and types of therapy you do?
You can find an overview of my specialty areas and type of therapy modalities that I use on my home page OR on my page that is titled “Therapy Offerings”.
Is your office accessible?
